"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." -Zephaniah 3:17
Isn't that amazing?! I don't think I will ever be able to understand the depth of God's love, but I know I want to spend the rest of my life seeking to go deeper into that love.
God has been working in my life in amazing ways over the past few months. Wooing me, changing me, and stirring within me a renewed passion for and understanding of his love. God has given me a glimpse of how creative and exciting he wants my life to be, if I'm willing to serve him unreservedly. I have been longing for God, feeling homesick for God, as I never have before. It's an incredible place to be, knowing I am right where God wants me. In his will. In his arms.
My dreams of the future have never been clearer and more attainable. God has poured his love and courage over me so that I feel more confident in who I am than ever before. Even as I look to the future, I can also say have never been more content with the present, settling into this place, and this skin. My long-time prayers of freedom have been answered. God has freed me from everything, all my past insecurities and fears. I feel that nothing can stop me now from being the woman God intends me to be.
I have never felt closer to God, nor more protected by God. My heart is "now hidden with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:3) I feel fully secure in God's love, so I have nothing to fear.
Yet, lest I get overly confident in my new freedom, I was humbled this weekend. Junior High Jamboree, the thing I have been working towards since the beginnning of this internship, went well. I loved it. Sunday evening God reminded me that I actually did nothing. God did everything through me. Somehow, he decided I was a fit vessel to help coordinate the weekend, and he reminded me that I am nothing but an empty vessel without him. Even in the midst of that humbling, I felt the continued outpouring of God's love over me. Such undeserved love.
Once again I sense the call to live a life worthy of that love. I can only do that through the grace of God. I cannot fathom the fact that God is continually rejoicing over me with singing, but I am choosing to believe it with all my heart.
